Help!

I was trying to get into my database to delete a table and forgot my db password. So I went into my cpanel and changed it thereby disabling my website completely.

Currently, I get the following error message when trying to visit my website or admin backend...

Database Error: Unable to connect to the database:Could not connect to MySQL

Question: Where do I go to change the password in the Joomla configuration?

Hi Rob,

Common error you made there Rob and easily solved in the file:

configuration.php

The line that contains your database password is: 
var $password = 'yournewpasswordgoeshere';


In the same file are also database name:
var $db = 'yourdatabase';


and database username:
var $user = 'yourdatabaseusername';

I did not see a password line as you suggested so I added one. Now I get this error.

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare JConfig::$password in /home/content/I/V/M/IVMROB/html/IVMWEBSOLUTIONS/configuration.php on line 50

OK. I had to delete the pw line that I added and change the password on line 50.

We're back up!
