TOPIC: Forms in Joomla

Forms in Joomla 15 years, 5 months ago #53

A question I frequently encounter: "I want a form in Joomla, how can I do that?"

Forms in Joomla are a peculiar thing. For those known with for instance DreamWeaver or Frontpage, most likely know you can create forms quite easily in those applications. You would think that you could just make it in those applications and paste it in a Joomla article. Unfortunately that is not so.

Without going into too much technical details, just making your form in a Joomla article will not be sufficient. The form will not function. To be able to create forms, you will need an extra 3rd party component installed in your Joomla installation.

There are plenty form components for Joomla available, you can find an extensive list right here: http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions ... back/forms

My personal favorite for a few years already is Chronoforms: http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions ... 08/details
